fibromyalgia and work
I was diagnosed with fibro about three years ago. I manage it well, although managing it feels like it takes over my life. However, I always worked 9.30-4.30 with wed off. Our department changed. A manager left and a senior took the position and I was offered the senior role, on the condition i go full time. I feel like my employer is twisting my arm, and knows the extra hours will push me too far. I wonder if anyone can help regarding employment law and disability act. I know that reasonable adjustments ought to be made. Not sure this would include me keeping my original hours?

Hi Jenny,
Thanks for taking the time to post. I am sorry but this is not my forte. Luckily I do know a really good website for advice and support in this area.
The ACAS website has lots of useful information about employment law and the disability guidelines. You can take a look at the website here: http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=1461
This government website also offers information on reasonable adjustments https://www.gov.uk/rights-disabled-person/employment
I hope these help,
Justine
