Which moisturiser is best for you as eczema patient

We have just started to use a new Emollient called Emollin, it comes in a spray can and goes on in a really fine mist. You can see it getting into all the tiny cracks without touching painful and tender skin. There is no need to even rub it in so it is hygenic and kind. My kids love it, it is a joy to see them happy and positively asking for a certain cream. You just have to watch the floor and I don't use it on their faces, they have learnt already to look away as I spary. It is worth a try as it takes away all the rubbing and touching on the damaged skin. It gets the thumbs up in our house.

I'm uisng Epaderm emoillent cream and in the begining, i did notice results, but now I am finding that it is not working, especially on my arms. My arms dry up alot quicker than other areas of my body and I was wondering what i can do now?

Has anyone else used the cream before?

I used epaderm on my daughter who's 3 but didn't find it much useful, Ive tried so many different creams i found the best one to be cetraben. It seems to keep here skin looking moisturised for a good few hours, so dont know if you want to try it.

There are so many creams it really is a case of trial and error. We use Cetraben and Hydromol which is similar to Epaderm. But the cetraben is a white cream not the greasy stuff. We use Cetraben as a bath additive and soap and moisturiser, but at times use the hydromol at least once a day. But we also use 50:50, double base and Emolin. But there are many others that we have tried but not found helpful. You have to be ready to try and swop and watch for results. Bath oils add fire to my childrens skin which we worked out, every dr and specialist told us to use oils in the bath but now have to agree with us. Only ever change one thing at a time and trust your gut feelings.

I have a child that is suffering with eczema his face is flared up. He scratches his head quite alot and we are up most nights with him we have tried so many treatments by GPs, Dermatologist the skin gets better for a while then gets worse. I have saw Eczmol Cream shown on this website and wanted to know if anyone has used this product and what was the outcome. Look forward to a response.

I got told by my dermatologist that they don't advise people to use Dermol as they're full of chemicals that can exacerbate the condition! I've been given a new emollient called Dexeryl and seems to be working well (even after just one night!)

I was given Dermol for my son by his dermatologist and it worked well for a few weeks. Then, suddenly he had a bad reaction to it. His face started swelling up, went bright red and dry, and it looked very sore.

By the way, how did you get on at hospital?

I got told I was going to be admitted either Monday afternoon or Tuesday... But they had a more urgent case come in so they got it, which is fair enough really. So I've been going in for daily treatments, it seems to be working INCREDIBLY well! I'd really recommend the cream and suit option!

Got another appointment today at 1:30, but I'm going to find out if I can get them done at the hospital nearer my Mums house coz I split with the boyfriend last night and moved out!

Oh sorry to hear that, you are having a hard time at the moment aren't you!!
At least you seem to be having a bit of luck in dealing with the Eczema.
Did you manage to change hospitals?

Jay is quite good today, he has gone 2 full nights without scratching AT ALL I'm so proud of him, and myself really. Without blowing my own trumpet, I'm the one doing the hard work so I do feel quite proud of myself when we have any break through.
