How to temporarily stop using moisturisers?

I've been using Sorbolene cream and Elocon ointment to keep my eczema under control for almost 5 years now.
I won't be able to use the moisturiser for 7-10 days as I am going trekking. Is there anyway to keep my eczema under control during this period?
I have previously tried to stop using the moisturiser but my eczema flares up.
I heard oral steroid (prednisone) may work?
Thank you

Heya
tricky really. depends on how bad your skin is. personally i take my creams everywhere. even when on holiday, they seem to be on my 'essentials' list. It also depends where and for how long you are trekking. I have tried oral steroids and they do work really well - for the time you are taking them. but many people find that their skin just gets worse again after the course has finished. this means you will have to take them for the duration of your trip and long term use is not recommended. Ask your doc for advice, it will depend on your skin and the type of trek but personally i would be inclined to have a small supply with me anyway - just in case. you don't want your skin to ruin your holiday.
good luck. hope you find your answer. x

Not sure if FarenKnight has gone trekking and back. But to anyone reading this, don't give yourself oral steroid or ask for one because you can't have access to moisturizer. Only to be prescribed under doctor, and make sure the doctor is a specialist and a good one because judgment is involved in getting the right dosage and the follow-up steps. Don't work well for some, but helped my toddler lots.

Again, don't anyhow take oral steriod - you can't buy it OTC, but if you have some stashed somewhere, don't take it without doctor prescribing it.
