Every year, during the third week of April, a national observance called Youth Violence Prevention Week takes place. The main goal of this week is to increase awareness about the problem of youth violence and encourage the implementation of strategies to prevent it.
Throughout the week, schools, organizations, and communities across the country organize events and activities to engage young people in discussions about violence prevention. These activities may include workshops, assemblies, rallies, and other educational programs.
The focus of Youth Violence Prevention Week is to empower young people with the skills and knowledge needed to prevent violence and build safer communities. By promoting positive relationships, conflict resolution skills, and social-emotional learning, we can create a culture of non-violence that promotes the health and well-being of all youth.
